Advertisers are being asked to enter a new competition designed to showcase innovative ways of boosting website conversion rates.

Google’s Conversion Champion Challenge was launched on the official blog of its pay per click marketing service AdWords.

Entrants will be asked to track conversions on their site using the company’s measurement products, then analyse the statistics using Search Funnels or Conversion Optimiser to boost performance.

The brand that uses the most unique and innovative methods will receive an inclusive trip to Google headquarters in Mountain View, California, along with a meeting with its Conversion Team, who will carry out a usability assessment of its site and recommend changes that could further improve sales.

In addition, the winner will get $500 (£346) in AdWords credit.

The closing data for entries is July 31st.

In related news, Google has announced that it will be holding a webinar examining AdWords’ conversion products on June 10th at 09:00 Pacific Daylight Time or 12:00 Eastern Daylight Time.
