Bing has released details of the updates it is planning to carry out over the summer, which may affect companies working to improve their search engine optimisation.

Microsoft’s search engine noted on its Bing Community blog that it has increased its focus on entertainment, as this is one of the biggest search areas among users.

It has also improved the content sources for a number of popular topic areas, such as health, travel, finance, shopping and news.

In order to make things easier to use, Bing has made changes to its interface by introducing a feature called Quick Tabs.

This will be located at the top of its browser pages and draw attention to the most relevant available results to match common decisions people could make based on the purpose of their search.

Earlier this month, comScore figures revealed a six per cent increase in the number of queries from US internet users handled by Yahoo! and Bing.
