Google has unveiled Improving Online Conversions for Dummies.

Gordon Zhu of the Inside AdWords team said the ebook is designed to help those who are looking to boost conversions for pay per click marketing but feel "overwhelmed" by the array of tools on offer.

He added the guide is an ideal companion for marketers who want to "discover the secrets to getting more bang for your buck".

It aims to provide "simple, easy to follow" instructions on key areas, such as ensuring ads are triggered for the searches most likely to result in a sale and how to analyse clicks and impressions data to increase conversions.

The ebook also covers making the most of marketing spend and more advanced areas, like developing a conversion attribution model.

Earlier this year, Google ran a Conversion Champion Challenge to find the advertisers that achieved the best increase in sales by using its Search Funnels and Conversion Optimiser tools.

The winner, the Richard Petty Driving Experience, received $500 (£346) in AdWords credit and a one-on-one session with the search engine's Conversion Team at its headquarters in Mountain View, California.
