Google has released one of the most asked-for features in Google Search Console, property sets. Property sets allows users of Google Search Console to group together multiple properties (sites), and aggregate data in Search Analytics reports.search console robotThe main purpose of property sets is to make capturing a snapshot of all Search Analytics data easier. Before the new feature was introduced, Google Search Console reported data such as clicks, click-through rate and impressions on a property-by-property basis. As all properties needed to be entered into the Search Console individually – for example the WWW and non-WWW version of a site – there was no way to quickly and easily capture a snapshot of an entire site in one report. With Google Search Console’s new property sets, it is possible to create sets and view all Search Analytics data for that set in a single report.

Here’s what Google said in its Webmasters Central Blog:

Mobile app, mobile website, desktop website — how do you track their combined visibility in search? Until now, you’ve had to track all of these statistics separately. Search Console is introducing the concept of “property sets,” which let you combine multiple properties (both apps and sites) into a single group to monitor the overall clicks and impressions in search within a single report.

All it takes to create property sets is to access Google Search Console and click the ‘create a set’ button in the top right.
