Google has completed a deal which will see them acquire the Twitter analytics company, SocialGrapple, according to an article published by Search Engine Watch.

Though no official details regarding the deal have been released, it has been speculated that the move is more centered on acquiring the talents of SocialGrapple founder, Andrey Petrov.

Petrov founded SocialGrapple around a year ago as a service to provide useful information, reports and other such monitors to help users understand the behind-the-scenes activity of their Twitter accounts.

The service also archives and measures the growth of keyword tweets – an extremely useful feature for social media marketing campaign targeting.

An official statement released by Petrov on the SocialGrapple website, reading: “Thank you again for being a part of my journey, I strive to continue building tools that make the world more transparent and empowered, and I can’t imagine a better partner than Google.”

SEW have speculated that the acquisition could see Google use the talents of Petrov to create their own analytics tool for Google+.
