A recent study has revealed that Twitter – a popular platform for social media marketing initiatives – is the most popular social media site amongst business-to-business marketers, according to an article published by b2bmarketing.net.

Carried out by Pardot, the study found that of the surveyed marketers, 91 per cent said they used Twitter. However, despite this just 15 per cent responded that the micro-blogging site generated marketing leads for them.

LinkedIn was shown to be most effective social media site for generating leads – with 32 per cent stating that the professional networking site was their most successful social media tool for generating leads.

Blogging ranked just behind LinkedIn as an effective leads generator, with 27 per cent; of those marketers surveyed by Pardot, just ten per cent stated that Facebook – the Internet’s most popular social networking site – was their most effective lead generator.

Interestingly, a third of respondents to the survey revealed that they weren’t checking the overall end results produced by their social media marketing campaigns.
