ClickThrough Marketing will be helping this year’s Sport Relief campaign by offering its search engine marketing expertise for free.

This is the second year running that we’ll be working with Comic Relief – the charity that organises Sport Relief. Last year, as well as assisting the charity with its search engine marketing strategy, we took part in some fundraising ideas of our own.

We managed to raise around £300 with some office fun and games, including sponsored face painting, cake baking and superhero underwear challenges.

This year, we’re proud to be working with the charity again to drive traffic to the Sport Relief website, and promote its big initiatives online, including ‘The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile’ – a set of charity runs taking place across the UK , where anyone can do 1, 3 or 6 miles and have a great day out.

The ultimate aim of the campaign is to encourage website visitors to take part in The Mile, as well as set up their own exciting fundraising events, sponsor the efforts of others and donate money directly to the charity.

Sport Relief raised more than £44 million for vulnerable people in the UK and abroad in 2010, thanks to the generosity of the British public, who took part in its network of fun runs and came up with a wealth of brilliant fundraising ideas – and this year Sport Relief hopes to raise even more.

Once again, it’s encouraging people to get active and raise cash around their local communities, in school and at work.

We’ll be raising money at ClickThrough too, as senior account director Adam Symes and SEO account executive Lily Bowron cycle to London in a gruelling three-day fundraising marathon – from the comfort of ClickThrough’s Lichfield headquarters. Lily and Adam will make the journey from Lichfield to London – an impressive 120 miles – on exercise bike.
