Google has officially rolled out its AdWords service for mobiles.

Users of the pay per click marketing service who log in from devices using the iPhone, Android or Palm Pre platforms are now automatically taken to the new interface, Miles Johnson wrote on the official Inside AdWords blog.

"AdWords for mobile gives you a quick overview of how your account is performing and allows you to easily make select changes to your keywords and campaigns," he added.

Users can set up alerts for key events, such as reaching 90 per cent of their daily budget or traffic levels dropping sharply week-on-week, as well as setting filters to flag up their most important keywords.

Google had announced the development of a mobile platform for AdWords in March after months of requests from users who wanted to access their campaign accounts while "out and about".

Mr Johnson noted that the mobile version of the service is currently only available for accounts in UK, US or Australian English.
