Internet marketing teams may find that by using video in their online campaigns they are able to better engage with their audiences.

According to Phil Turnbull, marketing manager at hosting company Hostway, advertisers should be looking to use video as an internet marketing tool.

He explained that firms are seeking new techniques to market themselves online and pointed out that video can be an "exciting" approach.

"It’s fair to say that video is definitely immersing itself into the market a lot more now," he stated.

And he added that text and widgets no longer seem to interest consumers from a "usability and excitement point of view".

Mr Turnbull also said that there is now "every reason" for companies to be using flash video as part of a "dynamic" website.

He was speaking at Technology for Marketing & Advertising 2009 at Earls Court in London, which took place on February 24th and 25th.
