Social gaming provides an easy way for companies employing internet marketing solutions to reach customers.

This is according to Will Freeman, editor of CasualGaming.biz, who claimed the virtual activities have the potential to be "very good" marketing tools.

He said gaming requires a captivated audience and if this is achieved, business are likely to find they can easily reach a variety of ready-made, potential customers.

The activity now crosses a "huge demographic", he continued, which means it is easy for companies to contact the public.

This may be demonstrated by a recent study conducted by Lightspeed Research, which found 58 per cent of people on social networking sites had tried online gaming.

"Social gaming provides a more direct avenue to reach the consumer," Mr Freeman added.

He believes there is a "wealth of potential" for marketers to tap into and games on social networking site such as Facebook still have plenty of development and improvements ahead of them.
