ClickThrough Marketing, one of the fastest growing online marketing agencies in the country is passing on its knowledge to young people by creating up to 50 new internships.

The positions, which will be based at the Sandford Street offices in Lichfield, will help train the apprentices in every aspect of digital marketing, preparing them for a brighter future in the digital creative industry.

The company’s ‘Digital Academy’ has already taken on ten interns to train as copywriters, but there are also intern positions available in all areas of the business, including within the search marketing teams.

As part of the training the interns will attend regular seminars on subjects such as SEO (search engine optimisation) and PPC (pay per click) run by senior figures within the business, including Insights Director Dave Chaffey, who has been cited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing as one of fifty marketing gurus worldwide.

Phil Robinson, founder and director of ClickThrough Marketing, said: “The Digital Academy started life as our own internal training program for new staff, but we soon realised that it could be extended to give young people an insight into the digital marketing industry. Our interns get real work experience and benefit from free training from our highly experienced digital marketers, and in return we get to meet some of tomorrows digital marketing stars at the start of their careers”.

Since it was established in 2004, the company has helped clients in over 30 countries improve their businesses sales by employing online digital and search marketing strategies.

Carly Hunt, a Web Optimisation and SEO Intern said: “I have been given a brilliant opportunity and a chance to try out a career I am interested in. As well as gaining vital work experience I am lucky to be working with such a great team of people”.

The internships are for a minimum of six months and can be completed either on a part-time or full-time basis, allowing time for those undergoing a degree programme to continue to attend university.

In March of this year ClickThrough Marketing became one of the only companies to have produced books on SEO and PPC marketing that can be bought from Amazon.co.uk and Waterstones.com. Each intern will receive a copy of each book as part of the program.

Danielle Hadley, 22, a third year Journalism student from Staffordshire University, said: “I am learning a lot from the team and have been given the freedom to come up with ideas and write my own articles. Everyone is really friendly and happy to help and I feel that it is the perfect place to intern while finishing my course at University”.
