We're delighted to welcome Alex Copping to ClickThrough, and we took the opportunity to ask him to answer our rapid-fire new starter questions. Here's what he had to say...
When did you join ClickThrough?
I joined CTM on 3rd August 2020
What does your role at ClickThrough involve?
My role as a PPC Specialist involves taking initiative with our clients’ paid media strategy, ensuring that we’re providing consistently strong results across the board. I will be working across paid search, shopping, display, social and everything in between, developing my understanding of each different discipline in order to provide the most efficient delivery possible.
What's your background?
I’ve spent the last two years working in the paid media team at McCann Manchester, starting out as a junior and working my way up through the ranks. Before that, I lived in Melbourne working in sales at a digital marketing company, developing thicker skin than I thought possible. Aussie’s certainly do have a way with words.
What do you love about your role at ClickThrough?
The role is a big part of why I wanted to join CTM. I feel as though there is a huge opportunity for personal development within the role, as well as a chance to innovate across a multitude of different platforms.
What do you like about ClickThrough and its culture?
I was genuinely blown away by the culture of the business, from the first minute of the interview all the way through to getting my feet under the table. Having learnt my trade in a huge agency, it has become evident in this first week that the team and wider business at CTM have each other’s back, working collaboratively and effectively for our clients.
If you hadn’t gone into marketing, what would your other career option be?
Aside from playing up front for Manchester United (curse that knee injury), I think I would’ve gone into journalism or writing in some capacity. I’ve actually written a novel over lockdown that’s currently in the editing stage – so watch out for my upcoming world-wide book tour!
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, who would it be and why?
ANYONE who lives in the Bahamas or Hawaii – I don’t care who! A week of loafing about on the beach is about as good as it gets in my book.
What do you do in your spare time?
I played a bit of football and went to a lot of gigs and festivals before this stinker of a year hit. Aside from that, I’m into writing, the gym, hiking and eating mostly. I also love to travel when possible, so fingers crossed for later this year…Mexico awaits.
