The website has been relaunched in order to improve the booking experience for those wishing to travel.

Speaking to eTail Today, group executive of Qantas Airlines Commercial Rob Gurney said the reworked site has been expanded from a simple bookings page to a more integrated planning portal where all requirements can be easily managed.

"Our research told us customers wanted the ability to book an entire holiday online or to self-manage their travel experience via the internet, including being able to check in and select their seat before they even leave for the airport," he remarked.

The altered website delivers information such as global timetables, arrivals and departures to iPhones and Blackberries, as well as providing international online check in, car hire options and activities and event news, improving the company’s online PR.

Qantas’s relaunched site comes after a recent Hill & Knowlton survey of web users which found that "personal prior experience" of a site had the biggest impact on e-retail.
